My heart is moved by a noble theme as I recite my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil. A wedding song. My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
2 You are the most handsome of men; grace flows from your lips. Therefore God has blessed you forever. You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.
3 Mighty warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor — Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty! Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
4 in your splendor ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice. May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts.
