A Psalm of David. Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; praise becomes the upright. Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord on the harp; platy to him on a psaltery of ten strings. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are faithful. For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full the mercy of the Lord. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth . By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
Who gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; who lays up the deeps in treasuries. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord; and let all that dwell in the world be moved because of him. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; he brings to nought also the reasonings of the peoples, and brings to nought the counsels of princes. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But the counsel of the Lord endures for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The Lord looks out of heaven; he beholds all the sons of men. The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
He looks from his prepared habitation on all the dwellers on the earth; from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—
who fashioned their hearts alone; who understands all their works. he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
A king is not saved by reason of a great host; and a giant shall not be delivered by the greatness of his strength. The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A horse is vain for safety; neither shall he be delivered by the greatness of his power. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him, those that hope in his mercy; Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine. that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits on the Lord; for he is our helper and defender. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, and we have hoped in his holy name. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
