1 Not to us, O LORD {YHWH}, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness. Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
2 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God {Elohehem}?” Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?”
3 Our God {Elohenu} is in heaven; He does as He pleases. Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases. Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see; They have mouths, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.
6 they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell; They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell.
7 they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats \they cannot utter with their throat/. 8 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them. Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
9 O Israel [O house of Israel], trust in the LORD {YHWH}! He is their help and shield. O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield. All you Israelites, trust in the LORD— he is their help and shield.
10 O house of Aaron (light bringer), trust in the LORD {YHWH}! He is their help and shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield. House of Aaron, trust in the LORD— he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear the LORD {YHWH}, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield. You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield. You who fear him, trust in the LORD— he is their help and shield.
12 The LORD {YHWH} is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel (he wrestles with God); He will bless the house of Aaron (light bringer); The LORD has remembered us; he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron; The LORD remembers us and will bless us: He will bless his people Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 He will bless those who fear the LORD {YHWH}—small and great alike. he will bless those who fear the LORD, both the small and the great. he will bless those who fear the LORD— small and great alike.
14 May the LORD {YHWH} give you⁺ increase, both you⁺ and your⁺ children. May the LORD give you increase, you and your children! May the LORD cause you to flourish, both you and your children.
15 May you⁺ be blessed by the LORD {YHWH}, the Maker of heaven and earth. May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth! May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD {YHWH}, but the earth He has given to mankind. The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man. The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.
17 It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence. The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence. It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to the place of silence;
18 But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore. Hallelujah (Praise the LORD)! But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the LORD! it is we who extol the LORD, both now and forevermore. Praise the LORD.
