2 Iuda was his holynesse: and Israel his dominion. Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3 The sea sawe that and fled: Iordane was driuen backe. The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back. The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back;
4 The mountaynes skypped lyke rammes: and the litle hilles like young lambes. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs.
5 What ayleth thee O thou sea that thou fleddest? and thou Iordane that thou wast driuen backe? What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back? Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
6 Ye mountaines what ayled you that ye skipped lyke rammes: and ye litle hilles like young lambes? O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs? Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble thou earth at the presence of the Lorde: at the presence of the Lorde of Iacob. Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 Whiche turned the harde rocke into a standing water: and the flint stone into a springing well of waters. who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water. who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.
