4 But He, answering, said, "It has been written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the Devil takes Him into the holy city, and placed Him on the pinnacle of the temple, Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 and says to Him, "If Thou art a Son of God, cast Thyself down; for it has been written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning Thee; and on their hands they shall bear Thee up; lest at any time Thou shouldest dash Thy foot against a stone.'" and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “’He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said to him, "Again it has been written, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'" Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again the Devil takes Him into an exceedingly high mountain, and shows Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
9 and he said to Him, "All these things will I give Thee, if, falling down, Thou wilt worship me." And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus saith to him, "Depart, Satan; for it has been written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.'" Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
11 Then the Devil leaves Him; and, behold, angels came and were ministering to Him. Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him. Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
12 And, hearing that John was delivered up, He withdrew into Galilee. Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee.
13 And, having left Nazareth, having come, He dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zebulon and Naphtali; And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—
14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 "Land of Zebulon and land of Naphtali, by way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations: “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 The people that were sitting in darkness saw a great Light; and to those sitting in a region and shadow of death Light arose." the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent ye; for the Kingdom of Heaven has drawn near." From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
18 And, walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. 19 And He saith to them, "Come after Me, and I will make you fishers of men." And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
20 And, immediately leaving their nets, they followed Him. Immediately they left their nets and followed him. At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 And, having gone on thence, He saw other two brothers: James a son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them; And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and beyond Jordan. And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan. Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
