| 18 | Καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀσύνετοί ἐστε οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι πᾶν τὸ ἔξωθεν εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς τὸν ἄνθρωπον οὐ δύναται αὐτὸν κοινῶσαι | And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, | “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? | |
| 19 | ὅτι οὐκ εἰσπορεύεται αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ἀλλ’ εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν καὶ εἰς τὸν ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκπορεύεται καθαρίζων πάντα τὰ βρώματα | since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) | For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.) | |
