9 Καὶ εὐθέως ἐγένετο ὑγιὴς ἄνθρωπος καὶ ἦρεν τὸν κράβαττον αὐτοῦ καὶ περιεπάτει Ἦν δὲ σάββατον ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,
10 ἔλεγον οὖν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι τῷ τεθεραπευμένῳ Σάββατόν ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἔξεστίν σοι ἆραι τὸν κράβαττον [σου] So the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”
