LET not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
In my Father's house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
And whither I go you know, and the way you know. And you know the way to where I am going.” You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas saith to him: Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip saith to him: Lord, shew us the Father, and it is enough for us. Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. How sayest thou, Shew us the Father? Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. But the Father who abideth in me, he doth the works. Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.
Otherwise believe for the very works' sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you shall ask me any thing in my name, that I will do. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
If you love me, keep my commandments. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. “If you love me, keep my commands.
And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—
The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, nor knoweth him: but you shall know him; because he shall abide with you, and shall be in you. even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Yet a little while: and the world seeth me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
In that day you shall know, that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them; he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
Judas saith to him, not the Iscariot: Lord, how is it, that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”
Jesus answered, and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our abode with him. Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words. And the word which you have heard, is not mine; but the Father's who sent me. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
These things have I spoken to you, abiding with you. “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. “All this I have spoken while still with you.
But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
You have heard that I said to you: I go away, and I come unto you. If you loved me, you would indeed be glad, because I go to the Father: for the Father is greater than I. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you before it comes to pass: that when it shall come to pass, you may believe. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.
I will not now speak many things with you. For the prince of this world cometh, and in me he hath not any thing. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me,
But that the world may know, that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandment, so do I: Arise, let us go hence. but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here. but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.
