For behold, in those days and at that time, when I turn back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, “In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all the nations, and I will bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, and I will enter into judgment with them there over My people and My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations—and they have divided up My land. I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.
And for My people they have cast lots, and they have given a boy for a prostitute, and a girl they have sold for wine, that they may drink. and have cast lots for my people, and have traded a boy for a prostitute, and have sold a girl for wine and have drunk it. They cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes; they sold girls for wine to drink.
And indeed, what are you⁺ to Me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia? A recompense are you⁺ rendering against Me, or are you⁺ retaliating against Me? Swiftly and speedily I will return your⁺ recompense upon your⁺ head, “What are you to me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you paying me back for something? If you are paying me back, I will return your payment on your own head swiftly and speedily. “Now what have you against me, Tyre and Sidon and all you regions of Philistia? Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done.
because you⁺ took My silver and My gold, and My precious treasures you⁺ have brought in into your⁺ temples! For you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my rich treasures into your temples. For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.
And the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem you⁺ sold to the sons of Javan, that you might remove them far from their borders. You have sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks in order to remove them far from their own border. You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, that you might send them far from their homeland.
Behold, I am rousing them from the place where there you⁺ have sold them, and I will return your⁺ recompense upon your⁺ head! Behold, I will stir them up from the place to which you have sold them, and I will return your payment on your own head. “See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them, and I will return on your own heads what you have done.
And I will sell your⁺ sons and your⁺ daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off!” Indeed, YHWH has spoken. I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away, for the LORD has spoken.” I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away.” The LORD has spoken.
Call this out among the nations: “Consecrate for war; Rouse the mighty ones; let draw near; let them come up—all the men of war! Proclaim this among the nations: Consecrate for war; stir up the mighty men. Let all the men of war draw near; let them come up. Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack.
Beat your⁺ plowshares into swords, and your⁺ pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a warrior.” Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!”
Hurry and come in, all nations from around, and gather together there. Bring down, O YHWH, Your mighty ones. Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves there. Bring down your warriors, O LORD. Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, LORD!
May they be roused and come up—the nations to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit to judge all the nations from around. Let the nations stir themselves up and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. “Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side.
Send forth the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down, for the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow, for great is their wickedness! Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Go in, tread, for the winepress is full. The vats overflow, for their evil is great. Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow— so great is their wickedness!”
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision. For the day of YHWH is near in the valley of decision. Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will withdraw their brightness. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.
And YHWH will roar from Zion, and from Jerusalem He will give forth His voice, and the heavens and the earth will quake, and YHWH will be a refuge for His people and a stronghold for the sons of Israel. The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel. The LORD will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.
And you⁺ will know that I am YHWH your⁺ God, the One dwelling on Zion, the mountain of My holiness; and Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will not pass through her anymore. “So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall never again pass through it. “Then you will know that I, the LORD your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.
And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; and all the channels of Judah will flow with water, and a fountain will come forth from the house of YHWH and will water the Valley of Shittim. “And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Shittim. “In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water. A fountain will flow out of the LORD’s house and will water the valley of acacias.
Egypt will be as a desolation and Edom will be as a wilderness of desolation, because of violence to the sons of Judah; for in their land they have poured out innocent blood. “Egypt shall become a desolation and Edom a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the people of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. But Egypt will be desolate, Edom a desert waste, because of violence done to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.
And Judah will abide forever, and Jerusalem for generation and generation. But Judah shall be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem to all generations. Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem through all generations.
And I will clear their bloodguilt that I have not cleared. And YHWH is dwelling in Zion! I will avenge their blood, blood I have not avenged, for the LORD dwells in Zion.” Shall I leave their innocent blood unavenged? No, I will not.” The LORD dwells in Zion!
