1 The LORD responded to Job, And the LORD said to Job: The LORD said to Job:
2 |Will the person who finds fault with the Almighty correct him? Will the person who argues with God answer him?| “Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.” “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!”
3 Job answered the LORD, Then Job answered the LORD and said: Then Job answered the LORD:
4 |I'm so insignificant. How can I answer you? I will put my hand over my mouth. “Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. “I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.
5 I spoke once, but I can't answer- twice, but not again.| Can You Be Like Me, Job? I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, but I will proceed no further.” I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.”
6 Then the LORD responded to Job out of a storm, Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm:
7 |Brace yourself like a man! I will ask you, and you will teach me. “Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
8 |Would you undo my justice? Would you condemn me so that you can be righteous? Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be in the right? “Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?
9 Do you have power like God's? Can you thunder with a voice like his? Have you an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his? Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his?
10 Then dress yourself in majesty and dignity. Clothe yourself in splendor and glory. “Adorn yourself with majesty and dignity; clothe yourself with glory and splendor. Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.
11 Unleash your outbursts of anger. Look at all who are arrogant, and put them down. Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him. Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low,

14 Then even I will praise you because your right hand can save you. Then will I also acknowledge to you that your own right hand can save you. Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
15 |Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you. It eats grass as cattle do. “Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox. “Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 Look at the strength in its back muscles, the power in its stomach muscles. Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly!
17 It makes its tail stiff like a cedar. The ligaments of its thighs are intertwined. He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.
18 Its bones are bronze tubes. They are like iron bars. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron. Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like rods of iron.
19 Behemoth is the first of God's conquests. Its maker approaches it with his sword. “He is the first of the works of God; let him who made him bring near his sword! It ranks first among the works of God, yet its Maker can approach it with his sword.
20 The hills bring it food, and all the wild animals play there. For the mountains yield food for him where all the wild beasts play. The hills bring it their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.
21 It lies down under the lotus plants in a hiding place among reeds and swamps. Under the lotus plants he lies, in the shelter of the reeds and in the marsh. Under the lotus plants it lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh.
22 Lotus plants provide it with cover. Poplars by the stream surround it. For his shade the lotus trees cover him; the willows of the brook surround him. The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it.
23 Though the river flows powerfully against it, it's not alarmed. It's confident [even] when the Jordan rushes against its mouth. Behold, if the river is turbulent he is not frightened; he is confident though Jordan rushes against his mouth. A raging river does not alarm it; it is secure, though the Jordan should surge against its mouth.
24 Can anyone blind its eyes or pierce its nose with snares? Can one take him by his eyes, or pierce his nose with a snare? Can anyone capture it by the eyes, or trap it and pierce its nose?
