Moreover the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at the door of the gate; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of the LORD, which faces east. And behold, at the entrance of the gateway there were twenty-five men. And I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.
He said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city; And he said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; The LORD said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city.
who say, ‘The time is not near to build houses. This is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’ who say, ‘The time is not near to build houses. This city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’ They say, ‘Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.’
Therefore prophesy against them. Prophesy, son of man.” Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, O son of man.” Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.”
Yahweh’s Spirit fell on me, and he said to me, “Speak, ‘Yahweh says: “Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, “Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel. For I know the things that come into your mind. Then the Spirit of the LORD came on me, and he told me to say: “This is what the LORD says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind.
You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.” You have multiplied your slain in this city and have filled its streets with the slain. You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
“‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you will be brought out of the middle of it. Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the cauldron, but you shall be brought out of the midst of it. “Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it.
You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh. You have feared the sword, and I will bring the sword upon you, declares the Lord GOD. You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign LORD.
“I will bring you out of the middle of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you.
You will fall by the sword. I will judge you in the border of Israel. Then you will know that I am Yahweh. You shall fall by the sword. I will judge you at the border of Israel, and you shall know that I am the LORD. You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
This will not be your cauldron, neither will you be the meat in the middle of it. I will judge you in the border of Israel. This city shall not be your cauldron, nor shall you be the meat in the midst of it. I will judge you at the border of Israel, This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel.
You will know that I am Yahweh, for you have not walked in my statutes. You have not executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you.”’” and you shall know that I am the LORD. For you have not walked in my statutes, nor obeyed my rules, but have acted according to the rules of the nations that are around you.” And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you.”
When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, “Alas, Sovereign LORD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?”
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, And the word of the LORD came to me: The word of the LORD came to me:
“Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are the ones to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.’ “Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, your kinsmen, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.’ “Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites, ‘They are far away from the LORD; this land was given to us as our possession.’
“Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.”’ Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.’ “Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.’
“Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’ “Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.’
“‘They will come there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there. And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. “They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols.
I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them. I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh, And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.
that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them. They will be my people, and I will be their God. that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads,’ says the Lord Yahweh.” But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.” But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.”
Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them. The glory of the God of Israel was over them above. Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.
Yahweh’s glory went up from the middle of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city. And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain that is on the east side of the city. The glory of the LORD went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it.
The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the captives. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia in the vision given by the Spirit of God. Then the vision I had seen went up from me,
Then I spoke to the captives all the things that Yahweh had shown me. And I told the exiles all the things that the LORD had shown me. and I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.
