Thus says the LORD: “For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because he burned to lime the bones of the king of Edom. This is what the LORD says: “For three sins of Moab, even for four, I will not relent. Because he burned to ashes the bones of Edom’s king,
And I will send a fire on Moab, and it will devour the citadels of Kerioth; and Moab will die with a roar, with shouting, with the voice of the shofar. So I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth, and Moab shall die amid uproar, amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet; I will send fire on Moab that will consume the fortresses of Kerioth. Moab will go down in great tumult amid war cries and the blast of the trumpet.
And I will cut off the judge from her midst, and all her princes I will kill with him,” says YHWH. I will cut off the ruler from its midst, and will kill all its princes with him,” says the LORD. I will destroy her ruler and kill all her officials with him,” says the LORD.
Thus says YHWH: “Over three transgressions of Judah, even over four, I will not turn back—over their rejecting the law of YHWH, and they did not keep His commandments, and their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers have walked! Thus says the LORD: “For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have rejected the law of the LORD, and have not kept his statutes, but their lies have led them astray, those after which their fathers walked. This is what the LORD says: “For three sins of Judah, even for four, I will not relent. Because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept his decrees, because they have been led astray by false gods, the gods their ancestors followed,
And I will send a fire on Judah, and it will devour the citadels of Jerusalem.” So I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.” I will send fire on Judah that will consume the fortresses of Jerusalem.”
Thus says YHWH: “Over three transgressions of Israel, even over four, I will not turn back—over their selling the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals. Thus says the LORD: “For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals— This is what the LORD says: “For three sins of Israel, even for four, I will not relent. They sell the innocent for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals.
They pant after the dust of the earth on the heads of the poor, out of their way they stretch aside the humble, and a man and his father go into the same girl, in order to defile the name of My holiness. those who trample the head of the poor into the dust of the earth and turn aside the way of the afflicted; a man and his father go in to the same girl, so that my holy name is profaned; They trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed. Father and son use the same girl and so profane my holy name.
And on clothes taken in pledge they stretch out beside every altar, and the wine of those having been fined they drink in the house of their God. they lay themselves down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge, and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined. They lie down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge. In the house of their god they drink wine taken as fines.
And I—I have destroyed the Amorite before their faces, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the Oaks; and I destroyed his fruit above and his roots beneath. “Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars and who was as strong as the oaks; I destroyed his fruit above and his roots beneath. “Yet I destroyed the Amorites before them, though they were tall as the cedars and strong as the oaks. I destroyed their fruit above and their roots below.
And I brought you⁺ up from the land of Egypt, and I led you⁺ in the wilderness forty years, to possess the land of the Amorite. Also it was I who brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. I brought you up out of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness to give you the land of the Amorites.
And I raised up some of your⁺ sons as prophets, and some of your⁺ young men as Nazirites. Indeed, Is it not thus, O sons of Israel?” An utterance of YHWH. And I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel?” declares the LORD. “I also raised up prophets from among your children and Nazirites from among your youths. Is this not true, people of Israel?” declares the LORD.
“And the Nazirites you⁺ made to drink wine, and regarding the prophets you⁺ commanded, saying, ‘You⁺ will not prophesy.’ “But you made the Nazirites drink wine, and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘You shall not prophesy.’ “But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.
Behold, I am going to press you⁺ under, as a cart full of sheaves presses down. “Behold, I will press you down in your place, as a cart full of sheaves presses down. “Now then, I will crush you as a cart crushes when loaded with grain.
And flight will perish from the swift, and the strong will not strengthen his power, and the mighty will not deliver his soul. Flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not retain his strength, nor shall the mighty save his life; The swift will not escape, the strong will not muster their strength, and the warrior will not save his life.
And the one handling the bow will not stand, and the one swift in his feet will not escape, and the one riding a horse will not deliver his soul; he who handles the bow shall not stand, and he who is swift of foot shall not save himself, nor shall he who rides the horse save his life; The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet-footed soldier will not get away, and the horseman will not save his life.
