4	He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? 5	“Who are You, Lord? Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, He replied.	And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.	And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: <i>it is</i> hard for thee to kick against the pricks.	And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He <i>said,</i> “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,	“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
6	“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.	But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”	And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord <i>said</i> unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.	but get up and enter the city, and it will be told to you what you must do.”	“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7	The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless. They heard the voice but did not see anyone.	The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. 8	Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could not see a thing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought <i>him</i> into Damascus. 11	“Get up! the Lord told him. “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.	And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,	And the Lord <i>said</i> unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for <i>one</i> called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,	And the Lord <i>said</i> to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying,	The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.

13	But Ananias answered, “Lord, many people have told me about this man and all the harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:	But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints in Jerusalem;	“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.
14	And now he is here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.	And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”	And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.	and here he has authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”	And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15	“Go! said the Lord. “ This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.	But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.	But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:	But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;	But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.
16	I will show him how much he must suffer for My name.	For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”	For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.	for I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.”	I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17	So Ananias went to the house, and when he arrived, he placed his hands on Saul. “Brother Saul, he said, “the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.	So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”	And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, <i>even</i> Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.	So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”	Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18	At that instant, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and his sight was restored. He got up and was baptized,	And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized;	And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. 19	and after taking some food, he regained his strength. And he spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.	and taking food, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.	and he took food and was strengthened. 20	Saul promptly began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, declaring, “He is the Son of God.	And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”	And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.	and immediately he <i>began</i> to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”	At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
21	All who heard him were astounded and asked, “Isn’t this the man who wreaked havoc in Jerusalem on those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?	And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”	But all that heard <i>him</i> were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?	All those hearing <i>him</i> continued to be amazed, and were saying, “Is this not the one who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?”	All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”
22	But Saul was empowered all the more, and he confounded the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.	But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.	But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.	But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this <i>Jesus</i> is the Christ.	Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
23	After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,	When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him,	And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:	When many days had elapsed, the Jews plotted together to do away with him,	After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him,
24	but Saul learned of their plot. Day and night they watched the city gates in order to kill him.	but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him,	But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.	but their plot became known to Saul. They were also closely watching the gates day and night so that they might put him to death;	but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him.
25	One night, however, his disciples took him and lowered him in a basket through a window in the wall.	but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.	Then the disciples took him by night, and let <i>him</i> down by the wall in a basket.	but his disciples took him at night and let him down through <i>an opening in</i> the wall, lowering him in a large basket. 26	When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.	And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple.	And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.	When he came to Jerusalem, he tried <i>repeatedly</i> to associate with the disciples; and <i>yet</i> they were all afraid of him, as they did not believe that he was a disciple.	When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple.
27	Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and described how Saul had seen the Lord, who spoke to him on the road to Damascus, and how Saul had spoken boldly in that city in the name of Jesus.	But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared to them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
28	So Saul stayed with them, moving about freely in Jerusalem and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.	So he went in and out among them at Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.	And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.	And he was with them, moving about freely in Jerusalem, speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord.	So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.
29	He talked and debated with the Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him.	And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists. But they were seeking to kill him.	And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.	And he was talking and arguing with the Hellenistic <i>Jews;</i> but they were attempting to put him to death.	He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him.
30	When the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.	And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.	<i>Which</i> when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.	Now when the brothers learned <i>of it,</i> they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.	When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31	Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced a time of peace. It grew in strength and numbers, living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.	So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.	Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.	So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, as it was being built up; and as it continued in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it kept increasing.	Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
32	As Peter traveled throughout the area, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.	Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.	And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all <i>quarters</i>, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.	Now as Peter was traveling through all <i>those regions,</i> he also came down to the saints who lived at Lydda.	As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord’s people who lived in Lydda.
33	There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.	There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed.	And there he found a certain man named AEneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.	There he found a man named Aeneas who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.	There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years.
34	“Aeneas, Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and put away your mat. Immediately Aeneas got up,	And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.	And Peter said unto him, AEneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.	Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your own bed.” Immediately he got up.	“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up.
35	and all who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.	And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.	And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.	And all who lived at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.	All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
36	In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated as Dorcas), who was always occupied with works of kindness and charity.	Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.	Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.	Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which when translated means Dorcas); this woman was excelling in acts of kindness and charity which she did <i>habitually.</i>	In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.
37	At that time, however, she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upper room.	In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.	And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid <i>her</i> in an upper chamber.	But it happened at that time that she became sick and died; and when they had washed <i>her body,</i> they laid <i>it</i> in an upstairs room.	About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room.
38	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to urge him, “Come to us without delay.	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.”	And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring <i>him</i> that he would not delay to come to them.	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Do not delay in coming to us.”	Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!”
39	So Peter got up and went with them. On his arrival, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood around him, weeping and showing him the tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.	So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.	Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.	So Peter got ready and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the room upstairs; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them.	Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40	Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He knelt down and prayed, and turning toward her body, he said, “Tabitha, get up! She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up.	But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.	But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning <i>him</i> to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.	But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.	Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
41	Peter took her by the hand and helped her up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her to them alive.	And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.	And he gave her <i>his</i> hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.	And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.	He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive.
42	This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.	And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.	And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.	It became known all over Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.	This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.
43	And Peter stayed for several days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.	And he stayed in Joppa for many days with one Simon, a tanner.	And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.	And <i>Peter</i> stayed in Joppa many days with a tanner <i>named</i> Simon.	Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
