1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 3 saying, “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” and said, “You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.”
4 But Peter began speaking and proceeded to explain to them in orderly sequence, saying, But Peter began and explained it to them in order: Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story:
5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object coming down like a great sheet lowered by four corners from heaven, and it came right down to me, “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending, being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me. “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. 7 And I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise up, Peter; slaughter and eat.’ And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’ Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’
8 But I said, ‘By no means, Lord, for nothing defiled or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ But I said, ‘By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ “I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
9 But a voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has cleansed, no longer consider defiled.’ But the voice answered a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ “The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’
10 And this happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into heaven. This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
11 And behold, immediately three men appeared at the house in which we were, having been sent to me from Caesarea. And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. “Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.
12 And the Spirit told me to go with them without taking issue at all. These six brothers also went with me and we entered the man’s house. And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.
13 And he reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, ‘Send to Joppa and summon Simon, who is also called Peter; And he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter; He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.
14 and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ he will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
17 Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could prevent God’s way?” If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
18 And when they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.” When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
19 So then those who were scattered because of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone. Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks also, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
22 Now the news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch, The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
23 who, when he arrived and saw the grace of God, rejoiced and began to encourage them all with a purposeful heart to remain true to the Lord; When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.

28 And one of them named Agabus stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius. One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)
29 And as any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the service of the brothers living in Judea. So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.
30 And this they did, sending it in charge of Barnabas and Saul to the elders. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
