1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the gentiles had also accepted the word of God. Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 But when Peter went up to Jerusalem, those who emphasized circumcision disagreed with him. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying, So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him
3 They said, |You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them!| “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” and said, “You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.”
4 Then Peter began to explain to them point by point what had happened. He said, But Peter began and explained it to them in order: Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story:

8 But I replied, 'Absolutely not, Lord, for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth!' But I said, ‘By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ “I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
9 Then the voice from heaven answered a second time, 'You must stop calling common what God has made clean!' But the voice answered a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ “The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’
10 This happened three times. Then everything was pulled back up to heaven. This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
11 |At that very moment three men arrived at the house where we were staying. They had been sent to me from Caesarea. And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. “Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them without hesitating. These six brothers went with me, too, and we entered the house of the man from Caesarea. And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.
13 Then he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his home and saying, 'Send messengers to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. And he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter; He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.
14 He will discuss with you how you and your entire household will be saved.' he will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’

16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17 Now if God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, who was I to try to stop God?| If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
18 When they heard this, they calmed down, and praised God by saying, |So God has given repentance that leads to life even to gentiles.| When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
19 Now the people who were scattered by the persecution that started because of Stephen went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. 20 But among them were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began proclaiming the Lord Jesus even to the Hellenistic Jews. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number of people believed and turned to the Lord. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
22 When the church in Jerusalem heard this news, they sent Barnabas all the way to Antioch. The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
23 When he arrived, he rejoiced to see what the grace of God had done, and with hearty determination he kept encouraging all of them to remain faithful to the Lord, When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.

28 One of them named Agabus got up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine all over the world. This happened during the reign of Claudius. And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius). One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)
29 So all of the disciples decided they would send a contribution to the brothers living in Judea, as they were able, So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.
30 by sending it through Barnabas and Saul to the elders. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
