And they carried the ark of God on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and Uzzah and Ahio were driving the cart. They moved the ark of God from Abinadab’s house on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding it.
And David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets. David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God, with songs and with harps, lyres, timbrels, cymbals and trumpets.
And when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah put out his hand to take hold of the ark, for the oxen stumbled. When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled.
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark, and he died there before God. The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.
And David was angry because the LORD had broken out against Uzzah. And that place is called Perez-uzza to this day. Then David was angry because the LORD’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.
