Psalm 36
NLT Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationChristian Standard Bible
Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all.1An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked person: Dread of God has no effect on him.
In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are.2For with his flattering opinion of himself, he does not discover and hate his iniquity.
Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.3The words from his mouth are malicious and deceptive; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good.
They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Their actions are never good. They make no attempt to turn from evil.4Even on his bed he makes malicious plans. He sets himself on a path that is not good, and he does not reject evil.
Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.5LORD, your faithful love reaches to heaven, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O LORD.6Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your judgments like the deepest sea. LORD, you preserve people and animals.
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.7How priceless your faithful love is, God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.8They are filled from the abundance of your house. You let them drink from your refreshing stream.
For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.9For the wellspring of life is with you. By means of your light we see light.
Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you; give justice to those with honest hearts.10Spread your faithful love over those who know you, and your righteousness over the upright in heart.
Don’t let the proud trample me or the wicked push me around.11Do not let the foot of the arrogant come near me or the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again.12There! The evildoers have fallen. They have been thrown down and cannot rise.
