Psalm 5
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation.1O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.
Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.2Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.3Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.4O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.5Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence, for you hate all who do evil.
You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.6You will destroy those who tell lies. The LORD detests murderers and deceivers.
But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.7Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at your Temple with deepest awe.
Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.8Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is destruction; Their throat is an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.9My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flattery.
Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, For they have rebelled against You.10O God, declare them guilty. Let them be caught in their own traps. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.11But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.12For you bless the godly, O LORD; you surround them with your shield of love.
