| 1And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, | 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, |
| 2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, | 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. |
| 3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. | 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts.
