| 3I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, | 3I am thankful to God, whom I have served with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, when I remember you in my prayers as I do constantly night and day. |
| 4greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, | 4As I remember your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. |
