To the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Death of the Son.” A Psalm of David. I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.1To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.2I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence.3When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.4For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.5Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
O enemy, destructions are finished forever! And you have destroyed cities; Even their memory has perished.6O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
But the LORD shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment.7But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.8And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.9The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.10And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people.11Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.12When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
Have mercy on me, O LORD! Consider my trouble from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,13Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
That I may tell of all Your praise In the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation.14That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught.15The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
The LORD is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah16The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.17The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten; The expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.18For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
Arise, O LORD, Do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged in Your sight.19Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
Put them in fear, O LORD, That the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah20Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
