NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of David when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, and said to him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.” Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually.1Why do you make evil the foundation of your boasting, mighty one? God's gracious love never ceases.
Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.2Your tongue, like a sharp razor, devises wicked things and crafts treachery.
You love evil more than good, Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah3You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking uprightly. Interlude
You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue.4You love all words that destroy, you deceitful tongue!
God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah5But God will tear you down forever; he will take you away, even snatching you out of your tent! He will uproot you from the land of the living. Interlude
The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying,6The righteous will fear when they see this, but then they will laugh at him, saying,
“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.”7"Look, here is a young man who refused to make God his strength; instead, he trusted in his great wealth and made his wickedness his strength.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the gracious love of God forever and ever.
I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.9Therefore I will praise you forever because of what you did; I will proclaim that your name is good in the midst of your faithful ones.
