New King James Version | Christian Standard Bible |
I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. | 1I love the LORD because he has heard my appeal for mercy. |
Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. | 2Because he has turned his ear to me, I will call out to him as long as I live. |
The pains of death surrounded me, And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. | 3The ropes of death were wrapped around me, and the torments of Sheol overcame me; I encountered trouble and sorrow. |
Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!” | 4Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, save me!" |
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is merciful. | 5The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate. |
The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. | 6The LORD guards the inexperienced; I was helpless, and he saved me. |
Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. | 7Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you. |
For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from falling. | 8For you, LORD, rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. |
I will walk before the LORD In the land of the living. | 9I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living. |
I believed, therefore I spoke, “I am greatly afflicted.” | 10I believed, even when I said, "I am severely oppressed." |
I said in my haste, “All men are liars.” | 11In my alarm I said, "Everyone is a liar." |
What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? | 12How can I repay the LORD for all the good he has done for me? |
I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD. | 13I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. |
I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people. | 14I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. |
Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. | 15The death of his faithful ones is valuable in the LORD's sight. |
O LORD, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds. | 16LORD, I am indeed your servant; I am your servant, the son of your female servant. You have loosened my bonds. |
I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the LORD. | 17I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD. |
I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people, | 18I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, |
In the courts of the LORD’s house, In the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD! | 19in the courts of the LORD's house--within you, Jerusalem. Hallelujah! |
