He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." | 2His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of his servants.” |
3And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever." | 3And again their voices rang out: “Praise the LORD! The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!” |
4The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: "Amen, Hallelujah!" | 4Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! Praise the LORD!” |
5Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!" | 5And from the throne came a voice that said, “Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.” |
6Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! 8Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God's holy people.) | 8She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. |
9Then the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!" And he added, "These are the true words of God." | 9And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.” |
10At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus." | 10Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus. ” The Rider on the White Horse |
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. | 11Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. |
12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. | 12His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. |

Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared. |

19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. | 19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. |
20But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. | 20And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. |

And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies. |
