NIV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!1A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.
Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."2Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah.
But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.3But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.4I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.5I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.
Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.8Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.
