Psalm 86
NIV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionEnglish Standard Version
A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.1Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;2Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God.
have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.3Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day.
Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.4Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.5For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.6Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.
When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.7In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.
Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.8There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.9All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.
For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.10For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.11Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.12I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.13For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me-- they have no regard for you.14O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them.
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.15But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.16Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant.
Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.17Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
