After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, 1After this I heard something like the loud voice of a vast multitude in heaven, saying, Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God,
because his judgments are true and just. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his servants poured out by her own hands!" 2because his judgments are true and righteous, because he has judged the notorious prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality; and he has avenged the blood of his servants that was on her hands.
Then a second time the crowd shouted, "Hallelujah!" The smoke rises from her forever and ever.3A second time they said, Hallelujah! Her smoke ascends forever and ever!
The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: "Amen! Hallelujah!" 4Then the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who is seated on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah!
Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God all you his servants, and all you who fear Him, both the small and the great!" 5A voice came from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all his servants, and the ones who fear him, both small and great!
Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns! 6Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying, Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty, reigns!
Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 7Let us be glad, rejoice, and give him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has prepared herself.
She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen" (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints). 8She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.
Then the angel said to me, "Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!" He also said to me, "These are the true words of God."9Then he said to me, "Write: Blessed are those invited to the marriage feast of the Lamb!" He also said to me, "These words of God are true."
So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, "Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." 10Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "Don't do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
Then I saw heaven opened and here came a white horse! The one riding it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice he judges and goes to war.11Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and he judges and makes war with justice.
His eyes are like a fiery flame and there are many diadem crowns on his head. He has a name written that no one knows except himself.12His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself.
He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God.13He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.
The armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses.14The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen.
From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful.15A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.
He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords." 16And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Then I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky: "Come, gather around for the great banquet of God, 17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
to eat your fill of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!" 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military commanders, the flesh of the mighty, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great."
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army.19Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army.
Now the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf--signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur.20But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with it the false prophet, who had performed the signs in its presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
The others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh. 21The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh.
