Psalm 16
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
1A Mikhtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in You.1A miktam of David. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.
2I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good besides You."2I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
3As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.3I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight."
4The sorrows of those who have bartered for another god will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of blood, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.4Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.
5The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot.5LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.
6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.7I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
8I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.8I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.9Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,
10For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.10because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.11You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
