For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles--1For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace which was given to me for you;2If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief.3How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,6That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God's grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.7Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory.13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
