| 1A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! | 1LORD, hear my prayer; pay attention to my request, because you are faithful; answer me in your righteousness. |
| 2And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no man living is righteous. | 2Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no living person is righteous in your sight. |
| 3For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead. | 3For those who oppose me are pursuing my life, crushing me to the ground, making me sit in darkness like those who died long ago. |
| 4Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart is appalled within me. | 4As a result, my spirit is desolate within me, and my mind within me is appalled. |
| 5I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your doings; I muse on the work of Your hands. | 5I remember the former times, meditating on everything you have done. I think about the work of your hands. |

| 8Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. | 8In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you. |
| 9Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I take refuge in You. | 9Deliver me from my enemies, LORD. I have taken refuge in you. |
| 10Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. | 10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground. |
