NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
A Psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, the LORD, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.1The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth.2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
May our God come and not keep silence; Fire devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous around Him.3Our God comes; he does not keep silence; before him is a devouring fire, around him a mighty tempest.
He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people:4He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
"Gather My godly ones to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."5“Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”
And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. Selah.6The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge! Selah
"Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you; I am God, your God.7“Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God.
"I do not reprove you for your sacrifices, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.8Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me.
"I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds.9I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds.
"For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills.10For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
"I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine.11I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.
"If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains.12“If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine.
"Shall I eat the flesh of bulls Or drink the blood of male goats?13Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
"Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High;14Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High,
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me."15and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
But to the wicked God says, "What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?16But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?
"For you hate discipline, And you cast My words behind you.17For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.
"When you see a thief, you are pleased with him, And you associate with adulterers.18If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers.
"You let your mouth loose in evil And your tongue frames deceit.19“You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.
"You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother's son.20You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.
"These things you have done and I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes.21These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.
"Now consider this, you who forget God, Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be none to deliver.22“Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!
"He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God."23The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”
