A Psalm of Asaph. God takes His stand in His own congregation; He judges in the midst of the rulers.1A Psalm of Asaph. God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods:
How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked? Selah.2“How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.3Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed.
Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.4Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.
They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.5They do not know or understand; they wander in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, "You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High.6I have said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.’
"Nevertheless you will die like men And fall like any one of the princes."7But like mortals you will die, and like rulers you will fall.”
Arise, O God, judge the earth! For it is You who possesses all the nations.8Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.
