Zechariah 2
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.1Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.2I asked, "Where are you going?" He answered me, "To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is."
And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,3While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him
And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:4and said to him: "Run, tell that young man, 'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it.
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.5And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,' declares the LORD, 'and I will be its glory within.'
Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.6"Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven," declares the LORD.
Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.7"Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!"
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.8For this is what the LORD Almighty says: "After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you--for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye--
For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.9I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me.
Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.10"Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the LORD.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.11"Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.
And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.12The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.13Be still before the LORD, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."
