King James BibleNET Bible
To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.1For the music director; to be played on a stringed instrument; written by David. O God, hear my cry for help! Pay attention to my prayer!
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.2From the most remote place on earth I call out to you in my despair. Lead me up to an inaccessible rocky summit!
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.3Indeed, you are my shelter, a strong tower that protects me from the enemy.
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.4I will be a permanent guest in your home; I will find shelter in the protection of your wings. (Selah)
For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.5For you, O God, hear my vows; you grant me the reward that belongs to your loyal followers.
Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.6Give the king long life! Make his lifetime span several generations!
He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.7May he reign forever before God! Decree that your loyal love and faithfulness should protect him.
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.8Then I will sing praises to your name continually, as I fulfill my vows day after day.
