Psalm 62
KJV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNET Bible
To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.1For the music director, Jeduthun; a psalm of David. For God alone I patiently wait; he is the one who delivers me.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.2He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.
How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.3How long will you threaten a man? All of you are murderers, as dangerous as a leaning wall or an unstable fence.
They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.4They spend all their time planning how to bring him down. They love to use deceit; they pronounce blessings with their mouths, but inwardly they utter curses. (Selah)
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.5Patiently wait for God alone, my soul! For he is the one who gives me confidence.
He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.6He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.7God delivers me and exalts me; God is my strong protector and my shelter.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.8Trust in him at all times, you people! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our shelter! (Selah)
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.9Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.
Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.10Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it!
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.11God has declared one principle; two principles I have heard: God is strong,
Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.12and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love. For you repay men for what they do.
