To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.1God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.2I call to you from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me,
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.3for you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy.
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.4I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah
For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.5God, you have heard my vows; you have given a heritage to those who fear your name.
Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations.6Add days to the king's life; may his years span many generations.
He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.7May he sit enthroned before God forever. Appoint faithful love and truth to guard him.
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.8Then I will continually sing of your name, fulfilling my vows day by day.
