King James Bible | International Standard Version |
A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. | 1I cry to you from the depths, LORD, |
Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. | 2Lord, listen to my voice; let your ears pay attention to what I ask of you! |
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? | 3LORD, if you were to record iniquities, Lord, who could remain standing? |
But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. | 4But with you there is forgiveness, so that you may be feared. |
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. | 5I wait for the LORD; my soul waits, and I will hope in his word. |
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. | 6My soul looks to the Lord more than watchmen look for the morning— more, indeed, than watchmen for the morning. |
Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. | 7Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is gracious love, along with abundant redemption. |
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. | 8And he will redeem Israel from all its sins. |
