Titus 2
KJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
King James BibleEnglish Standard Version
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:1But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.2Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;3Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,4and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.5to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.6Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,7Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.8and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;9Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.10not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;12training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;13waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.15Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
