The LORD spoke to Moses: "1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Tell Aaron and his sons to deal respectfully with the holy offerings of the Israelites that they have consecrated to Me, so they do not profane My holy name; I am Yahweh. 2"Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they dedicate to Me, so as not to profane My holy name; I am the LORD.
Say to them: If any man from any of your descendants throughout your generations is in a state of uncleanness yet approaches the holy offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person will be cut off from My presence; I am Yahweh. 3"Say to them, 'If any man among all your descendants throughout your generations approaches the holy gifts which the sons of Israel dedicate to the LORD, while he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from before Me; I am the LORD.
No man of Aaron's descendants who has a skin disease or a discharge is to eat from the holy offerings until he is clean. Whoever touches anything made unclean by a dead person or by a man who has an emission of semen, 4No man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or who has a discharge, may eat of the holy gifts until he is clean. And if one touches anything made unclean by a corpse or if a man has a seminal emission,
or whoever touches any swarming creature that makes him unclean or any person who makes him unclean--whatever his uncleanness--5or if a man touches any teeming things by which he is made unclean, or any man by whom he is made unclean, whatever his uncleanness;
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening and is not to eat from the holy offerings unless he has bathed his body with water. 6a person who touches any such shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy gifts unless he has bathed his body in water.
When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the holy offerings, for that is his food.7But when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterward he shall eat of the holy gifts, for it is his food.
He must not eat an animal that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts, making himself unclean by it; I am Yahweh. 8He shall not eat an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, becoming unclean by it; I am the LORD.
They must keep My instruction, or they will be guilty and die because they profane it; I am Yahweh who sets them apart." 9'They shall therefore keep My charge, so that they will not bear sin because of it and die thereby because they profane it; I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
No one outside a priest's family is to eat the holy offering. A foreigner staying with a priest or a hired hand is not to eat the holy offering. 10No layman, however, is to eat the holy gift; a sojourner with the priest or a hired man shall not eat of the holy gift.
But if a priest purchases someone with his money, that person may eat it, and those born in his house may eat his food. 11But if a priest buys a slave as his property with his money, that one may eat of it, and those who are born in his house may eat of his food.
If the priest's daughter is married to a man outside a priest's family, she is not to eat from the holy contributions.12If a priest's daughter is married to a layman, she shall not eat of the offering of the gifts.
But if the priest's daughter becomes widowed or divorced, has no children, and returns to her father's house as in her youth, she may share her father's food. But no outsider may share it. 13'But if a priest's daughter becomes a widow or divorced, and has no child and returns to her father's house as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's food; but no layman shall eat of it.
If anyone eats a holy offering in error, he must add a fifth to its value and give the holy offering to the priest.14But if a man eats a holy gift unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy gift to the priest.
The priests must not profane the holy offerings the Israelites give to the LORD15They shall not profane the holy gifts of the sons of Israel which they offer to the LORD,
by letting the people eat their holy offerings and having them bear the penalty of restitution. For I am Yahweh who sets them apart." 16and so cause them to bear punishment for guilt by eating their holy gifts; for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.'"
The LORD spoke to Moses: "17Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites and tell them: Any man of the house of Israel or of the foreign residents in Israel who presents his offering--whether they present freewill gifts or payment of vows to the LORD as burnt offerings--18"Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel and say to them, 'Any man of the house of Israel or of the aliens in Israel who presents his offering, whether it is any of their votive or any of their freewill offerings, which they present to the LORD for a burnt offering--
must offer an unblemished male from the cattle, sheep, or goats in order for you to be accepted. 19for you to be accepted-- it must be a male without defect from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats.
You are not to present anything that has a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf." 20'Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it will not be accepted for you.
When a man presents a fellowship sacrifice to the LORD to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or flock, it has to be unblemished to be acceptable; there must be no defect in it. 21'When a man offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or for a freewill offering, of the herd or of the flock, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.
You are not to present any animal to the LORD that is blind, injured, maimed, or has a running sore, festering rash, or scabs; you may not put any of them on the altar as a fire offering to the LORD.22Those that are blind or fractured or maimed or having a running sore or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the LORD, nor make of them an offering by fire on the altar to the LORD.
You may sacrifice as a freewill offering any animal from the herd or flock that has an elongated or stunted limb, but it is not acceptable as a vow offering. 23In respect to an ox or a lamb which has an overgrown or stunted member, you may present it for a freewill offering, but for a vow it will not be accepted.
You are not to present to the LORD anything that has bruised, crushed, torn, or severed testicles; you must not sacrifice them in your land. 24Also anything with its testicles bruised or crushed or torn or cut, you shall not offer to the LORD, or sacrifice in your land,
Neither you nor a foreigner are to present food to your God from any of these animals. They will not be accepted for you because they are deformed and have a defect." 25nor shall you accept any such from the hand of a foreigner for offering as the food of your God; for their corruption is in them, they have a defect, they shall not be accepted for you.'"
The LORD spoke to Moses: "26Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
When an ox, sheep, or goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days; from the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as a gift, a fire offering to the LORD.27"When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall remain seven days with its mother, and from the eighth day on it shall be accepted as a sacrifice of an offering by fire to the LORD.
But you are not to slaughter an animal from the herd or flock on the same day as its young.28"But, whether it is an ox or a sheep, you shall not kill both it and its young in one day.
When you sacrifice a thank offering to the LORD, sacrifice it so that you may be accepted. 29"When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.
It is to be eaten on the same day. Do not let any of it remain until morning; I am Yahweh." 30"It shall be eaten on the same day, you shall leave none of it until morning; I am the LORD.
You are to keep My commands and do them; I am Yahweh. 31"So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the LORD.
You must not profane My holy name; I must be treated as holy among the Israelites. I am Yahweh who sets you apart, 32"You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be sanctified among the sons of Israel; I am the LORD who sanctifies you,
the One who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am Yahweh." 33who brought you out from the land of Egypt, to be your God; I am the LORD."
