Psalm 36
HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
For the choir director. A psalm of David, the LORD's servant. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked person: There is no dread of God before his eyes, 1Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.
for in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to discover and hate his sin. 2For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The words of his mouth are malicious and deceptive; he has stopped acting wisely and doing good. 3The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
Even on his bed he makes malicious plans. He sets himself on a path that is not good and does not reject evil. 4He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.
LORD, Your faithful love reaches to heaven, Your faithfulness to the clouds. 5Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains; Your judgments, like the deepest sea. LORD, You preserve man and beast. 6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD.
God, Your faithful love is so valuable that people take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. 7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They are filled from the abundance of Your house; You let them drink from Your refreshing stream, 8They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
for with You is life's fountain. In Your light we will see light. 9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.
Spread Your faithful love over those who know You, and Your righteousness over the upright in heart. 10Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
Do not let the foot of the arrogant man come near me or the hand of the wicked one drive me away. 11Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There the evildoers fall; they have been thrown down and cannot rise. 12There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise.
