Shout for joy to God, all the earth;1For the music director; a song, a psalm. Shout out praise to God, all the earth!
sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!2Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation! Give him the honor he deserves!
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.3Say to God: "How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power your enemies cower in fear before you.
All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah4All the earth worships you and sings praises to you! They sing praises to your name!" (Selah)
Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.5Come and witness God's exploits! His acts on behalf of people are awesome!
He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him,6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. Let us rejoice in him there!
who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah7He rules by his power forever; he watches the nations. Stubborn rebels should not exalt themselves. (Selah)
Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard,8Praise our God, you nations! Loudly proclaim his praise!
who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.9He preserves our lives and does not allow our feet to slip.
For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.10For you, O God, tested us; you purified us like refined silver.
You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs;11You led us into a trap; you caused us to suffer.
you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.12You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place.
I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will perform my vows to you,13I will enter your temple with burnt sacrifices; I will fulfill the vows I made to you,
that which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble.14which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals, with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams; I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah15I will offer up to you fattened animals as burnt sacrifices, along with the smell of sacrificial rams. I will offer cattle and goats. (Selah)
Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.16Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what he has done for me.
I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue.17I cried out to him for help and praised him with my tongue.
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.18If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.19However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.
Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!20God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me!
