The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.1A psalm of Asaph. Yahweh, the God of gods speaks; He summons the earth from east to west.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.2From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God appears in radiance.
Our God comes; he does not keep silence; before him is a devouring fire, around him a mighty tempest.3Our God is coming; He will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes Him, and a storm rages around Him.
He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people:4On high, He summons heaven and earth in order to judge His people."
“Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”5Gather My faithful ones to Me, those who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."
The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge! Selah6The heavens proclaim His righteousness, for God is the Judge. Selah "
“Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God.7Listen, My people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel. I am God, your God.
Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me.8I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or for your burnt offerings, which are continually before Me.
I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds.9I will not accept a bull from your household or male goats from your pens,
For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.10for every animal of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine.11I know every bird of the mountains, and the creatures of the field are Mine.
“If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine.12If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and everything in it is Mine.
Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?13Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High,14Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and pay your vows to the Most High.
and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”15Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me."
But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?16But God says to the wicked:" What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips?
For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.17You hate instruction and turn your back on My words.
If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers.18When you see a thief, you make friends with him, and you associate with adulterers.
“You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.19You unleash your mouth for evil and harness your tongue for deceit.
You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.20You sit, maligning your brother, slandering your mother's son.
These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.21You have done these things, and I kept silent; you thought I was just like you. But I will rebuke you and lay out the case before you."
“Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!22Understand this, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to rescue you.
The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”23Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God."
