2The LORD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. | 2And he said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; | 2He said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and give evil advice in this city, | 2Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: | 2The LORD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who plan evil and give wicked advice in this city. |
3They say, 'Haven't our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.' | 3who say, ‘The time is not near to build houses. This city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’ | 3who say, 'Is not the time near to build houses? This city is the pot and we are the flesh.' | 3Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. | 3They are saying, 'Isn't the time near to build houses? The city is the pot, and we are the meat.' |

5Then the Spirit of the LORD came on me, and he told me to say: "This is what the LORD says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. | 5And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and he said to me, “Say, Thus says the LORD: So you think, O house of Israel. For I know the things that come into your mind. | 5Then the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and He said to me, "Say, 'Thus says the LORD, "So you think, house of Israel, for I know your thoughts. | 5And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. | 5Then the Spirit of the LORD came on me, and He told me, "You are to say: This is what the LORD says: That is what you are thinking, house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your mind. |
6You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead. | 6You have multiplied your slain in this city and have filled its streets with the slain. | 6"You have multiplied your slain in this city, filling its streets with them." | 6Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. | 6You have multiplied your slain in this city, filling its streets with the dead." |
7"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. | 7Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the cauldron, but you shall be brought out of the midst of it. | 7Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, "Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of the city are the flesh and this city is the pot; but I will bring you out of it. | 7Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. | 7Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: The slain you have put within it are the meat, and the city is the pot, but I will remove you from it. |
8You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign LORD. | 8You have feared the sword, and I will bring the sword upon you, declares the Lord GOD. | 8"You have feared a sword; so I will bring a sword upon you," the Lord GOD declares. | 8Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. | 8You fear the sword, so I will bring the sword against you." This is the declaration of the Lord GOD." |
9I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you. | 9And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. | 9"And I will bring you out of the midst of the city and deliver you into the hands of strangers and execute judgments against you. | 9And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. | 9I will bring you out of the city and hand you over to foreigners; I will execute judgments against you. |
10You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 10You shall fall by the sword. 11This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. | 11This city shall not be your cauldron, nor shall you be the meat in the midst of it. For you have not walked in my statutes, nor obeyed my rules, but have acted according to the rules of the nations that are around you.” | 12"Thus you will know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in My statutes nor have you executed My ordinances, but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations around you."'" | 12And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you. | 12so you will know that I am Yahweh, whose statutes you have not followed and whose ordinances you have not practiced. A Promise of Restoration 13Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, "Alas, Sovereign LORD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?" | 13And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” | 13Now it came about as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, "Alas, Lord GOD! Will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end?" | 13And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? | 13Now while I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out with a loud voice: "Oh, Lord GOD! Will You bring to an end the remnant of Israel?" |

15"Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites, 'They are far away from the LORD; this land was given to us as our possession.' | 15“Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, your kinsmen, the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far from the LORD; to us this land is given for a possession.’ | 15"Son of man, your brothers, your relatives, your fellow exiles and the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'Go far from the LORD; this land has been given us as a possession.' | 15Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. | 15Son of man, your own relatives, those who have the right to redeem you, and the entire house of Israel, all of them, are those that the residents of Jerusalem have said this to, 'Stay away from the LORD; this land has been given to us as a possession.'" |
16"Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.' | 16Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.’ | 16"Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Though I had removed them far away among the nations and though I had scattered them among the countries, yet I was a sanctuary for them a little while in the countries where they had gone."' | 16Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. | 16Therefore say: This is what the Lord GOD says: Though I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone." |
17"Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.' | 17Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’ | 17"Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel."' | 17Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. | 17Therefore say: This is what the Lord GOD says: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel." |

20Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. | 20that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. | 20that they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God. | 20That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. | 20so they may follow My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. 21But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD." | 21But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.” | 21"But as for those whose hearts go after their detestable things and abominations, I will bring their conduct down on their heads," declares the Lord GOD. | 21But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD. | 21But as for those whose hearts pursue their desire for detestable things and practices, I will bring their actions down on their own heads." This is the declaration of the Lord GOD. |
God's Glory Leaves Jerusalem 22Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. | 22Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. | 22Then the cherubim lifted up their wings with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel hovered over them. | 22Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. | 22Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, lifted their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. |
