The End Times
(Revelation 1:1–3)

1  וּבָעֵ֣ת (And at the time) הַהִיא֩ (that) יַעֲמֹ֨ד (will stand up), מִֽיכָאֵ֜ל (Michael) הַשַּׂ֣ר (the prince) הַגָּד֗וֹל (great) הָעֹמֵד֮ (the one standing) עַל־ (over) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) עַמֶּךָ֒ (of your people), וְהָיְתָה֙ (and there will be) עֵ֣ת (a time) צָרָ֔ה (of distress), אֲשֶׁ֤ר (which) לֹֽא־ (not) נִהְיְתָה֙ (has come to be) מִֽהְי֣וֹת (from came to be) גּ֔וֹי (a nation) עַ֖ד (until) הָעֵ֣ת (the time); הַהִ֑יא (that) וּבָעֵ֤ת (and at the time) הַהִיא֙ (that) יִמָּלֵ֣ט (will be delivered), עַמְּךָ֔ (your people) כָּל־ (everyone) הַנִּמְצָ֖א (being found) כָּת֥וּב (written) בַּסֵּֽפֶר׃ (in the book).

2  וְרַבִּ֕ים (And many) מִיְּשֵׁנֵ֥י (of those sleeping in) אַדְמַת־ (the soil) עָפָ֖ר (of dust) יָקִ֑יצוּ (will awake), אֵ֚לֶּה (these) לְחַיֵּ֣י (to life), עוֹלָ֔ם (everlasting) וְאֵ֥לֶּה (and these) לַחֲרָפ֖וֹת (to shame) לְדִרְא֥וֹן (and contempt) עוֹלָֽם׃ס (everlasting). 3  וְהַ֨מַּשְׂכִּלִ֔ים (And those acting wisely) יַזְהִ֖רוּ (will shine) כְּזֹ֣הַר (like the shining) הָרָקִ֑יעַ (of the firmament); וּמַצְדִּיקֵי֙ (and those justifying) הָֽרַבִּ֔ים (many) כַּכּוֹכָבִ֖ים (like the stars) לְעוֹלָ֥ם (forever) וָעֶֽד׃פ (and ever).

4  וְאַתָּ֣ה (And you), דָֽנִיֵּ֗אל (O Daniel), סְתֹ֧ם (shut up) הַדְּבָרִ֛ים (the words), וַחֲתֹ֥ם (and seal) הַסֵּ֖פֶר (the book), עַד־ (until) עֵ֣ת (the time) קֵ֑ץ (of the end); יְשֹׁטְט֥וּ (will roam about), רַבִּ֖ים (Many) וְתִרְבֶּ֥ה (and will multiply) הַדָּֽעַת׃ (knowledge).

5  וְרָאִ֙יתִי֙ (And I looked), אֲנִ֣י (I) דָנִיֵּ֔אל (Daniel) וְהִנֵּ֛ה (and behold), שְׁנַ֥יִם (two), אֲחֵרִ֖ים (others) עֹמְדִ֑ים (were standing) אֶחָ֥ד (one) הֵ֙נָּה֙ (here) לִשְׂפַ֣ת (on the lip) הַיְאֹ֔ר (of the river), וְאֶחָ֥ד (and one) הֵ֖נָּה (here) לִשְׂפַ֥ת (on the lip) הַיְאֹֽר׃ (of the river). 6  וַיֹּ֗אמֶר (And one said) לָאִישׁ֙ (to the man) לְב֣וּשׁ (clothed) הַבַּדִּ֔ים (in linen), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (who was) מִמַּ֖עַל (above) לְמֵימֵ֣י (the waters) הַיְאֹ֑ר (of the river), עַד־ (Until) מָתַ֖י (when is) קֵ֥ץ (the end) הַפְּלָאֽוֹת׃ (of these wonders)?

7  וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע (And I heard) אֶת־ (-) הָאִ֣ישׁ׀ (the man) לְב֣וּשׁ (clothed) הַבַּדִּ֗ים (in linen), אֲשֶׁ֣ר (who was) מִמַּעַל֮ (above) לְמֵימֵ֣י (the waters) הַיְאֹר֒ (of the river), וַיָּ֨רֶם (and he lifted up) יְמִינ֤וֹ (his right hand) וּשְׂמֹאלוֹ֙ (and his left hand) אֶל־ (to) הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם (the heavens), וַיִּשָּׁבַ֖ע (and he swore) בְּחֵ֣י (by the One living) הָעוֹלָ֑ם (forever) כִּי֩ (that it shall be) לְמוֹעֵ֨ד (for a time), מֽוֹעֲדִ֜ים (times), וָחֵ֗צִי (and a half); וּכְכַלּ֛וֹת (and with the completing of) נַפֵּ֥ץ (the shattering of) יַד־ (the hand) עַם־ (of the people), קֹ֖דֶשׁ (of holiness) תִּכְלֶ֥ינָה (will be completed) כָל־ (all) אֵֽלֶּה׃ (these things).

8  וַאֲנִ֥י (And I) שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי (heard), וְלֹ֣א (and not); אָבִ֑ין (did I understand) וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה (and I said) אֲדֹנִ֕י (My lord), מָ֥ה (what is) אַחֲרִ֖ית (the end) אֵֽלֶּה׃פ (of these).

9  וַיֹּ֖אמֶר (And he said), לֵ֣ךְ (Go), דָּנִיֵּ֑אל (Daniel), כִּֽי־ (for) סְתֻמִ֧ים (are shut up) וַחֲתֻמִ֛ים (and sealed) הַדְּבָרִ֖ים (the words) עַד־ (until) עֵ֥ת (the time) קֵֽץ׃ (of the end). 10  יִ֠תְבָּֽרֲרוּ (Will be purified), וְיִֽתְלַבְּנ֤וּ (and be made white), וְיִצָּֽרְפוּ֙ (and be refined); רַבִּ֔ים (many) וְהִרְשִׁ֣יעוּ (and will act wickedly); רְשָׁעִ֔ים (the wicked) וְלֹ֥א (and not) יָבִ֖ינוּ (will understand); כָּל־ (any) רְשָׁעִ֑ים (of the wicked) וְהַמַּשְׂכִּלִ֖ים (and the wise ones) יָבִֽינוּ׃ (will understand).

11  וּמֵעֵת֙ (And from the time) הוּסַ֣ר (is taken away), הַתָּמִ֔יד (the daily sacrifice) וְלָתֵ֖ת (and is set up), שִׁקּ֣וּץ (the abomination) שֹׁמֵ֑ם (of desolation) יָמִ֕ים (will be days). אֶ֖לֶף (A thousand) מָאתַ֥יִם (two hundred) וְתִשְׁעִֽים׃ (and ninety). 12  אַשְׁרֵ֥י (Blessed is) הַֽמְחַכֶּ֖ה (the one waiting), וְיַגִּ֑יעַ (and who reaches) לְיָמִ֕ים (to the days). אֶ֕לֶף (A thousand) שְׁלֹ֥שׁ (three) מֵא֖וֹת (hundred) שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים (thirty) וַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ (and five).

13  וְאַתָּ֖ה (And you) לֵ֣ךְ (go) לַקֵּ֑ץ (until the end) וְתָנ֛וּחַ (and for you will rest), וְתַעֲמֹ֥ד (and you will stand) לְגֹרָלְךָ֖ (to your inheritance) לְקֵ֥ץ (at the end) הַיָּמִֽין׃ (of the days).
