| 1Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. | 1So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God. |

| 12So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; | 12Therefore, God's chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, |
| 13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. | 13accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. |
| 14Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. | 14Above all, put on love--the perfect bond of unity. |

| 17Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. | 17And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. |
| 18Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. | 18Wives, be submissive to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. |

| 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. | 24knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. |
| 25For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality. | 25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism. |
