Legacy

In the biblical context, the concept of legacy often intertwines with the idea of inheritance, both spiritual and material. A legacy is what one leaves behind for future generations, encompassing values, faith, and material possessions. The Bible emphasizes the importance of a godly legacy, urging believers to pass down their faith and values to their descendants.

Proverbs 13:22 states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is passed to the righteous." In the New Testament, Jesus teaches about God's provision in the Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 6:31-33 states, "So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’... But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." Here, Jesus emphasizes trust in God's provision as a fundamental aspect of faith.
