1 Chronicles 4:12
Eshton was the father of Beth-rapha, of Paseah, and of Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These were the men of Recah.
Eshton was the father of Beth-rapha,

Eshton belonged to the descendants of Judah, and “father” may identify him as the ancestor or founder of a family or settlement. Beth-rapha, meaning “house of healing” or “house of the giant,” may preserve the name of a clan or place within Judah’s inheritance, showing how families became established in the land God gave His people.

of Paseah,

Paseah, meaning “limping” or “lame,” was another branch of Eshton’s household. A family bearing this name also appears among those connected with the return from exile in Ezra and Nehemiah, though Scripture does not explicitly establish the same individual or direct line. The repeated preservation of such names reflects God’s care for His people across generations.

and of Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash.

Tehinnah is named as the father, likely founder, of Ir-nahash, meaning “city of Nahash” or “city of the serpent.” The location is otherwise unknown, but the record shows that Judah’s clans were connected both to family lines and to settled communities in the land.

These were the men of Recah.

Recah was likely a clan or an unidentified settlement associated with these descendants. Though little is known of them beyond this record, their place in Judah’s genealogy affirms that the Lord remembered even lesser-known households within the tribe through which He would bring David and, ultimately, the Messiah.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. 4. And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him. 5. And the daughter of Pharaoh came

Chronicles
The comparative indifference with which Chronicles is regarded in modern times by all but professional scholars seems to have been shared by the ancient Jewish church. Nor is this unnatural. The book
