1“Come, every one that is thirsty, come to the waters, and you who have no money; come, buy, and eat; come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2Why spend money for what is not food? And your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in the best food. 3Come and listen to Me, so that you may live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you that assures you the faithful love I promised to David. 4Behold, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples. 5You shall also command nations that you do not know, and those nations that did not know you shall come running to you because the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel; has glorified you with splendor. 6Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near: 7Let the wicked forsake their ways, and the unrighteous their thoughts, and let them return to the LORD, and He will have mercy upon them; to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. 8‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the LORD. 9‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than yours.’ 10“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return without watering the earth, and cause it bring forth and bud, so that it yields seed to the farmer, and bread for the hungry, 11So it is with My word: what proceeds from My mouth shall not return to Me void; but it shall accomplish what I intend, and it shall achieve the purpose for which I sent it out. 12For you shall go out in joy, and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills shall break into singing for you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13Instead of the thornbush, the fir tree shall come up, and instead of the brier, the myrtle tree shall come up. This shall be to the glory of the name of the LORD, that it shall endure forever.” Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved.
