Psalms 86:5-17 ▼

5 For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, and abundant in in loving devotion to all those calling on You.

6 Give ear, O YHWH, to my prayer, and attend to the voice of my pleas.

7 In the day of my distress I call on you, for You will answer me!

8 None like You is among the gods, O Lord, and not like Your works.

9 All the nations whom You have made shall come and bow down before Your face, O Lord, and they will glorify Your name.

10 For You are great, and the One doing wonders; You are God—You alone.

11 Instruct me, O YHWH, in Your way, and I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.

12 I will confess You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forever.

13 For Your loving devotion is great toward me. And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

14 O God, arrogant ones have risen against me, and a gathering of ruthless ones have sought my life; and they do not set You before them.

15 But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in in loving devotion and faithfulness.

16 Turn to me and show favor to me; give Your strength to Your servant, and give salvation to the son of Your maidservant.

17 Make with me a sign for good, and those hating me will see it and be put to shame! For You, YHWH, have helped me and comforted me!
