2 O my God, I cry out by day, and You do not answer, and by night, and there is no quiet for me.

3 And You are holy, sitting amid the praises of Israel.

4 In You our fathers trusted; they trusted, and You delivered them.

5 To You they cried, and they were given escape; in You they trusted, and they were not put to shame.

6 And I am a worm, and not a man, the scorn of men, and despised by the people.

7 All seeing me mock at me; they gape with the lip; they shake the head:
